A Place to Imagine the World of Tomorrow Together
Paris’ oldest fire station is now a hub for businesses, public authorities and citizens. Its goal: to drive a radical transformation in fashion. Young fashion designers have now begun their residencies at La Caserne. For three years, they will leverage an extensive network, coupled with a wide array of tools, to transform their brands into showcases for sustainability.
As a founding partner, Kering has backed the initiative from the onset, convinced that a paradigm shift can only be achieved through collective action across the industry. In particular, the Group supports the organization of events to raise awareness among fashion professionals and the general public about key issues in the sector.
The Conscious Festival: an educational and festive event about sustainability
From September 24 to 26, La Caserne hosted the first-ever Conscious Festival in Europe, organized by Green is the New Black. The event included talks on eco-responsibility and the planet as well as sustainable living workshops, art installations, and musical performances.
Two experts from Kering's sustainable development team spoke about fashion and biodiversity during panels, a stand dedicated to the Group's Materials Innovation Lab was set up at the entrance to the festival, and an exhibition designed with The Sustainable Angle highlighted Nature-positive materials.
