Kering at the 39th Edition of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography, and Accessories in Hyères

Every year, Kering, a long-standing partner of the Hyères Festival, reaffirms its commitment to modern, innovative luxury and more responsible fashion. During these 4 days of exhibitions, fashion shows, live performances, and creative workshops, the Group supports the oldest fashion competition for young professionals, placing sustainable development at the heart of innovative issues.

The 39th edition of the festival was held October 10-13, 2024, at Villa Noailles.

Each year, Kering offers the Festival's finalists a masterclass on environmental responsibility and sustainable innovation. On Saturday, October 12, the 22 finalists for the Fashion and Accessories Awards gathered in the gardens of Villa Noailles for a seasonal lunch with experts from the Group and beyond. For this 39th edition of the Festival, they included Anne-Gaëlle Lamort, Head of Sustainable Innovation at Kering, Riccardo Turrisi, Head of Sustainable Innovation at Kering's Material Innovation Lab, and Stefano Babbini, CEO of SQIM, a biomaterials start-up in which Kering Ventures has invested and with which Balenciaga collaborated to create its PETA award-winning mycelium coat EPHEA.

Annika Mohr Storfält, Balenciaga's Sustainable Development Director, attended the 23rd Rencontres Internationales de la Mode, organized each year by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM) at the Festival de Hyères. Alongside designers Jeanne Friot and Kevin Germanier, Isabelle Lefort, co-founder of Paris Good Fashion, and Cécile Gaume, General Manager of La Sirène, she discussed the challenges of environmental responsibility and innovation at Balenciaga and the progress made by the House and the Group as a whole.

The three pillars of Balenciaga’s sustainability strategy are impact, product, and system change. All three revolve around the environment, the people, and sustainable innovation: core values of Kering’s sustainability strategy.
