Kering is launching a new podcast series, Fashion Our Future, which explores the relationship between fashion and the environment, coinciding with the publication of its 2020-2023 Sustainability Progress Report.
Bringing together influential voices on fashion and the environment, Fashion Our Future takes audiences “behind the scenes” of the industry to explore the actions being taken to address sustainability issues, the areas that require further work, and the innovations enhancing circularity.
Over the course of five episodes, creative, passionate, and committed industry insiders will discuss and demystify the sustainable practices and ground-breaking solutions that are influencing and changing the luxury fashion industry.
In a first episode, available on all your usual platforms, Laurianne Melierre, a French journalist and fashion lover, speaks to two experts on biodiversity, wildlife and conservation to examine the root of the relationship between fashion and nature: raw materials. Dr Helen Crowley, former Head of Sustainable Sourcing and Nature Initiatives at Kering, now partner at leading global investment firm Pollination, and M. Sanjayan, CEO of Conservation International discuss the different materials used in the industry, their effect on the environment and why a change in agricultural practices is key to protecting biodiversity in the future.
In a second episode, published last week, Andrée-Anne Lemieux, PhD, Professor at the Institut Français de la Mode, Apurv Gupta, Sustainability Future Thinker at Kering, and Camille Le Gal, co-founder of Fairly Made, share the practices and technologies that are making that vital information possible and how that knowledge can positively impact the fashion industry.
Future episodes will be released bi-monthly and will provide insights, and further transparency about how we can protect biodiversity, enhance traceability and put luxury on a path to a more sustainable future.
