In order to stay within a safe operating space for humanity, this is a critical time to work together to protect and restore our ecosystems. Kering is more than ever committed to all its sustainability targets.
After the launch of its Biodiversity Strategy in June 2020, and in line with its objective to ensure the protection of global commons, Kering is taking one step further by joining the Science Based Targets for Nature (SBTN) corporate engagement program and pledge.
The pledge acknowledges that today’s challenges cannot be tackled alone by any single NGO, financial institution, company, sector, city or coalition. It envisions a global economy in which companies and cities operate within environmental boundaries on a socially equitable basis, enabled by science-based targets.
In a spirit of a multi-stakeholder collaboration toward globally shared goals, the program will offer companies an opportunity to actively participate in the development of methods and guidance between now and 2022. It will provide strategic insights into cutting edge science and approaches to SBTN, and engage in an open forum with other groups and coalitions sharing best practices and experience. These tools will advance alignment across social, environmental and corporate agendas.
