    BALENCIAGA Senior Manager, Merchandising and Inventory Planning | New York

    YOUR OPPORTUNITY The Senior Merchandising & Inventory Planning Manager is responsible for analyzing and forecasting through strategic sales planning, inventory management, and actionable reporting and insights for the Americas. This position will work closely with Regional and Worldwide Balenciaga and Kering teams across Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Finance to set and ensure growth targets are achieved. This role owns and drives category-specific distribution planning, stock rebalancing, and reverse logistics to support the full potential and performance of inventory. Activities include demand planning and replenishment through close partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders. This role works across Americas Merchandising Team, local warehouse and global Inventory Planning teams, to maximize product ownership from the initial planning stages, through in-season actions, to total stock exits. By supporting the team on a variety of analysis and projects, the Inventory Planner will acquire an understanding and knowledge of Balenciaga multi-channel and multi-country supply chain.

    HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

    Strategy and Distribution

    • Support Senior Vice President of Merchandising to develop and enhance planning processes and reporting
    • Monitor sales and inventory to ensure optimal stores assortments, analyze OTB and take action as necessary by reviewing sales and inventory against financial goals
    • Manage the build out of detailed annual store plans by store and category
    • Measure performance against plan and share monthly hindsight
    • Regularly deliver ad hoc actionable analysis from top line to store and category level
    • Influence decisions while building and motivating a cohesive organization
    • Clearly communicate to all cross-functional teams the financial objectives, action plans, opportunities, learning and liabilities of the business in order to enable strategic decision making
    • Work closely with the Merchandising team to analyze seasonal merchandise assortments and execute merchandising strategies including creation of sku plans at the category, core/fashion, and store level
    • Drive stock deployment at launch and coordinate the distribution to the stores through auto-replenishment
    • Ensure regional and global stock strategy of Weeks of Coverage (WOC) and increase sell-throughs, hit seasonal targets through a tailored by market approach
    • Monitor the level of stock in store and online
    • Evolve processes and tools defined with the Supply Chain community and show initiative to create new strategies and processes for constant cross-category optimization
    • Plan and supervise stock release for new store openings and special capsules/events

    Launch and In-Season Planning

    • Lead launch plan execution based on forecasted/actualized receipts, supporting the integrity of the Merchandising assortment and any Marketing activations
    • Review the forecast initiated by central team on novelty with regional Merchandising, in collaboration with regional Business Planning and Finance;
    • Support cross-departmental planning with Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Retail and Digital teams to build cohesive launch and replenishment plans across channels
    • Liaise closely with local Operations team and Global Supply Chain team to monitor stock building and shipping progress for timely in store deliveries
    • Prepare and analyze weekly sales reports ensuring planned sales and stretch targets are met
    • Suggest and execute stock movements and transfers based on results

    Replenishment and Stock Management

    • Develop replenishment process for category to determine efficiency opportunities
    • Create stock allocation strategies and propose systemic solutions based on historic sales, seasonal  potential, while considering WOC and front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) considerations
    • Define business strategy of the categories, reporting and sales recaps, competitive market analysis, and allocation/distribution of goods in accordance with company strategic business plans
    • Collaborate with Merchandising and Retail Teams to develop a strong understanding of market dynamics and needs, supplemented by store visits and competitor analysis
    • Build strong relations with the retail network and regularly review store business plan to ensure it supports forecasted market needs
    • Communicate and partner closely with Retail Teams and leadership on client needs and day to day inquiries
    • Collaborate with central supply chain and regional corporate partners (Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Training, Marketing, Supply Chain, Retail Performance)

    OUTLET Management

    • Manage product flow, monthly launches, promotions and discounts in Outlets
    • Partner with Retail management and BOH on maximizing opportunities and drive sales

    WHO YOU ARE

    • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within a retail organization with an international exposure.
    • Must have advanced knowledge of Excel
    • Strong understanding of Sales and Performance KPIs
    • Able to take initiative and take charge of work without daily supervision
    • Ability to work cross-functionally within the organization
    • Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple priorities, work independently, take initiative, and pay close attention to detail
    • Rigor, sense of organization and multi-tasking management
    • Strong Business acumen
    • Ability to maintain a positive work environment while respecting brand values and behaviours

    COMPENSATION

    For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, BALENCIAGA includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications. In addition, where a candidate falls within the disclosed range estimate may be dependent on the applicable geographic differential associated with the location in which the position may be filled.  

    A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $115,000 USD to $130,000 USD.
