Role Mission:
The Vice President of Communications is responsible for leading the Communications strategies for Japan, in support of the President vision for regional business and brand ambitions and for all brand communication strategies in alignment with both regional and global leadership teams. The role will support the brand’s success by reinforcing the creativity, authenticity and inclusivity that is at Gucci’s core. The VP, Communications directly oversees regional:

・Product Marketing
・Media
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead, direct, mentor and build Japan Communications team
- Develop, communicate, implement and drive short and long-term brand strategies
- Partner with key internal stakeholders across all channels and functions to ensure strategies are in-line with brand priorities and business objectives
- Identify new opportunities for brand alignment seeking strategic partners, like-minded collaborators and new media opportunities to support business growth and client retention while keeping the brand relevant and desirable
- Collaborate with global HQ to build and execute strategic Global Marketing and communications plans around seasonal initiatives ensuring amplification in Japan
- Oversee total Japan Communications budget assuring effective spending and accountability
- Oversee overall relationship with media partners, effectively partnering to drive earned and paid media value and innovation
- Oversee brand and culture engagement activities ensuring our social good strategy ties to our external brand activities
- Oversee special events activities which drive business results and brand communication, devising creative proposal and strategic alignment of activities
- Partner with Entertainment Industry global leadership to leverage relationships and build on storytelling through alignment and use of assets and resources
- Partner with the VP Client Engagement to maximize impact of brand communication strategies and to ensure an integrate and singular vision for client communication and client engagement activities
- Partner with the SVP Retail to drive client behavior and business ambitions
- Collaborate with and support President, CPO and executive leadership both regional and global with corporate and internal communications
- Member of the Japan Crisis Committee providing input on sensitive issues and leading crisis communications for Japan
- Member of the Gucci Japan Executive Committee strategizing with senior leadership in the prioritization of company initiative and achievement of goals
- Travel domestically for market visits and events
