We are seeking an experienced and highly strategic Finance Director on a 12-month fixed term maternity cover contract to oversee the financial operations of our organisation across the UK and Worldwide consolidation. The Finance Director will be responsible for managing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance while driving strategic initiatives to optimise financial performance as well as providing a key link to the Group. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to support the company's overall strategic objectives.
How will you contribute?
Financial Leadership:
- Lead the finance department in the development and implementation of financial strategies aligned with organisational goals.
- Provide strategic guidance on financial matters to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop and execute financial plans, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Maintain a strong relationship with the key stakeholders at Group level and wider Finance community across all Group brands.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Lead monthly/quarterly financial forecasting, analysing variances and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure effective resource allocation to achieve operational and financial goals.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Overseeing the UK and WW consolidation
- Financial reporting for a listed group
- Produce timely, accurate financial reports (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) for management and stakeholders.
- Provide insights on financial performance, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reviews.
Cash Flow and Working Capital Management:
- Monitor cash flow to ensure the company has sufficient liquidity for operations and growth.
- Optimize working capital and implement strategies to improve cash management and reduce financial risks.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Oversee a team of accountants/controllers for the UK statutory submission
- Establish and maintain robust internal control systems to ensure financial integrity and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Oversee audits, liaising with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate audits.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
Team Management and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the finance department.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and set goals for continuous improvement.
Risk Management:
- Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage and risk management protocols are in place to safeguard company assets.
Required Skills:
- You will be able to demonstrate the desired Alexander McQueen behaviours.
- Previous experience in listed or private Group
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or CFA is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting standard
- Proven track record of progressively responsible experience in financial management, including solid experience in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
- Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in financial software and ERP systems, SAP preferred.
