We are currently seeking an Assistant Merchandiser, Women's Leather Goods who will report to the Merchandising Manager, Women’s Leather Goods & Accessories, as part of our dynamic team in New York.
Your opportunity
The Assistant Merchandiser supports our Merchandising team in the execution of clerical duties that support departmental strategies and business objectives for the Woman Leather Goods category (Bags, SLG, Belts). This role will report to the Merchandising Manager, Woman Leather Goods.
How you will contribute
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Generate and review weekly, monthly and seasonal reporting ensuring planned sales and stretch are achieved. Provide sales analysis to identify business opportunities and communicate market needs to HQ
- Recommend opportunities to place reorders in Women’s Leather Goods
- Support with the execution, communication and follow up for all product moves including bulk allocation, stock balancing consolidations and international transfers
- Review and follow up with shipping and deliveries
- Support in new store openings and pop ups
- Manage inventory for store events
- Assist in the MTO and special orders approval process in Sales Force in partnership with Buyers
- Build buy books and training materials for distribution to stores. Support with pre-selling process, ensuring client’s orders are fulfilled in timely manner
- Liaise with local warehouses on merchandise deliveries and shipments as needed
- Lead store communication to initiate and follow up on all necessary actions including international transfers, special orders, feedback requests, etc.
- Demonstrate initiative by anticipating the needs of the department/the business and respond accordingly
- Create seasonal competitive analysis to identify market opportunities
- Create ad hoc reports as needed upon request from department management
- Support with market activities 4x a year: premarket analysis, stores feedback
- Remain positive and organized while meeting tight deadlines in a high-paced environment
- Support with business recap presentations
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in a fashion or business related major preferred
- Must have 2-3 years of experience, luxury preferred
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint as well as a strong foundation in retail math
- Must have strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team, possess organizational awareness and flexibility
- Demonstrate ability to adapt, strong knowledge of luxury market/products and philosophy of the brand
- Maintain a clear sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment by effectively prioritizing multiple projects
- Able to travel domestically and internationally as needed (travel in role is minimal)
- Comprehends the basic merchandising process; displays an interest in the office; understands the importance of their responsibilities and the impact it has on the business
New York Salary Range:
- Salary range of $26.00-28.00/hr (plus overtime)
