Mission
The Financial Controller will be responsible for all the aspects of Financial Management for the GCC, including reporting and compliance activity, reporting to the Middle East Finance Manager.
Job Description
- The Controller oversees the day-to-day activities of the local finance team and ensures the finance function is organized and efficient and produces accurate financial and management accounts.
- You will be part of the Middle East Team, being responsible for the controlling and reporting activities of Bottega Veneta entities (Retail).
- Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, you will work closely with various teams across the Middle East, regional controlling team based in Milan in Shared Services Center based in Dubai.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure all financial data is well documented within the department and all records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Ensure that appropriate reporting, accounting systems, and internal control procedures are in place to enable effective financial management of the business.
- Finalize the monthly reporting pack with highest level of accuracy, present to the Regional Finance Manager and submit to HQ ensuring all checks are resolved.
- Ensure timely submission of planning scenarios (Budget, Forecast, Forecast 2, Landing, etc.) proactively liaising with various departments to ensure timely collection of data and projections.
- Full ownership of monthly income statement preparation (P&L and Balance sheet). Provide monthly comments on the variations vs last year and vs the forecast.
- Conduct variance analyses, identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct periodic review of key balance sheet accounts to ensure there are no misstatements.
- Collaborate with the shared services to ensure to ensure accounting records are maintained in line with statutory and taxation requirements.
- Ensure accurate and consistent reporting of all capital expenditure within the business.
- Monitor cash flows and anticipate liquidity requirements.
- Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments and contract negotiations.
- Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Identify and monitor potential business risk and deliver recommendations.
- Liaise with internal/external auditors and banks.
- Ensure that appropriate reporting and accounting systems, and internal control procedures are in place to enable effective financial management of the business.
- Analyze monthly profit and loss and balance sheet, providing qualitative insight to management.
- Ensure costs control and efficiency across the company.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Degree in Accounting and well-versed with IFRS
- Previous experience in Retail Industry. Exposure to KSA and Qatar markets would be a plus
- Fluency in Arabic is plus.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) & SAP
- Dynamic and analytical.
- Problem solving mindset & Attention to details
- Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-cultural environment
- Solid communication skills
